Thanos founded ABP Invest in 2015. He is an award-winning fund manager with over 30yrs experience in financial markets, having managed assets for the most prestigious public and private institutions internationally. He began his career as an Economist for the UK Government Economic Service through the Civil Service Fast Stream during the ERM Crisis of 1992. Thanos then embarked on a 20yr asset management career with CSFB Investment Management (Credit Suisse) and Investec Asset Management (Ninety-One) managing assets across fixed income, emerging markets, multi-asset and currency management – where he was also twice awarded “Currency Manager of the Year.” He is a passionate windsurfing enthusiast, marathon runner since age 11, and more recently a cold-water swimmer. Thanos is a CFA Charterholder and also a member of Chatham House.
